Darrell & Connie Logan

Cheyenne Denver & Laramie (HO)

Darrell's multiple level layout measures 15’ x 43' with an 8-foot diameter, double-track helix in a separate room.  The railroad is based on the UP and SP during the steam to diesel transition era.  There is also a 35' double ended yard, engine facilities for steam and diesel power and a double track main.  You'll see plenty of big articulated steam and some early generation diesels running through the rocky and mountainous west.

The scenery is about 95% complete with a "bad moon rising”, night-time fireworks display and an operating carousel.  Digitrax DCC powers the layout.  A revised Bowser turntable has been installed with an Arduino based stepper motor and programable index.

There is also a 25’ x 15’ extension in progress in a neighboring room.  It will feature a special sky treatment using 3D printed concave corners to create a cycloramic sky based on innovations promoted by Miles Hales and Jon Lowrance.
