Jerry Severson

Denver & Rio Grande Western

Welcome to 1923 Colorado.  Jerry's C-shaped island layout includes 160’ of dual-gauged trackage and connects to another 110 sq ft C shaped area featuring the town of Alamosa.  The two areas are connected via a 4’ dual-gauged lift connector.  The layout also includes a 160’ narrow gauge logging operation featuring a sawmill, logging camp, 60’ of forest and 5 sidings.  The logging operations feed cut lumber to a narrow-to-dual-gauge transfer yard in Alamosa.  From there, lumber and other freight go back via the island layout to Beaverton with 5 towns in-between to work during operating sessions.  The layout also features a 9 mine standard gauge complex.

The layout runs on DC with MRC plug-in throttles and is designed for 10 operators.  Painted Sculptamold scenery is complete with trees and scenery.  Many towns have lighted buildings and streetlights.  Jerry is currently installing Tortoise machines, water tank with sound, and more scenery.  Numerous scratchbuilt structures are featured on his layout.
