Howdy Lamprecht, MMR®

Olive Grove Railroad and Lumber Company (HO)

Howdy models logging operations on his Olive Grove Railroad and Lumber Company.
His fictional layout is set in 1957 in Western Montana, situated between the Sapphire and Bitterroot Mountains. The railroad occupies a 13x28 area with a 210-foot mainline spanning three levels.

A central feature of the operation is a four-legged switchback that 2- truck Shays must contend with to bring log loads down from the woods to the sawmill and return empty cars back up. The layout also includes numerous scratch-built structures, the CNÇŽ Paper Mill, and features various paper and wood-related industries that require switching in and out of the Bombay yard.

DC radio control throttles for the switchback and upper level, while the lower levels utilize Digitrax DCC to power early Alco diesels.
