Dave Matheny

Chessie System Sutton Branch (HO)

Dave models the Sutton Branch of the Chessie in 1984.  The Sutton Branch depicts a moderately busy branch in West Virginia and is proto-freelanced with a heavy influence from the Chessie System.  Operations focus on working the huge Tygart Pulp & Paper Mill.

This layout may measure only 13’ x 11’, but packs plenty of operation into working the 12-foot-long paper mill.  The Chessie System and Monongalia Southern Railway (MGS) are the two primary railroads featured with the Chessie working Gassaway Yard while MGS serves the branch.

The layout is powered by a North Coast Engineering's (NEC) DCC System and a ProtoThrottle is used for train control.  All locomotives are ESU sound equipped.
