George Stringer

Ohio DCC Model Railroad  (HO)

The scenery is complete on this 17’ x 23’ L shaped layout.  It features 25 Miller Engineering LED signs, single and double-tracked mainline with a 2% grade, and a spectacular rock mountain tunnel.  Many of the locomotives feature custom installed red/white fiber optic directional markers and DCC decoders.  Time stopped on the pike in 1957, with Berkshires and F Units as his favorite engines.  The bench work was constructed from hollow doors and foam sheets.  Curves are super elevated and are mostly 42” radius.  The layout also features a two-part epoxy and Woodland Scenic Water Effects river which comes out of the backdrop and flows over a waterfall.  The focal point of the layout is the mountain at the heel of the “L” with several large rock castings used to create this scene
